Best New Dairy Product, at the prestigious Nantwich International Cheese Awards.
This cheese is a result of a joint venture between Bookham Fine Foods and R.Harrison & Sons, we exclusively use milk from the cows at Pallinghurst Farm, Rudgwick, West Sussex. They are a mixed breed herd and are grass fed, this results in very high quality milk, which is ideally suited to producing a creamy and full bodied cheese.
Sussex Charmer has a creamy mature Cheddar taste followed by a zing of a Parmesan. It is great with apples and pears; its long taste profile works well with pickles and is great for use in your cooking. When grating over pasta it adds a great creamy taste.
Sussex Charmer is suitable for Vegetarians!
We have blended the production techniques of cheddar making with that of Parmesan, thus creating a unique cheese which starts with a mature cheddar taste followed by a zing of Parmesan. It is great on its own, or with apples, pears, glass of wine and fruit cake. It has a longer taste profile than a normal cheddar so holds it flavour well with pickles and in cooking. It makes amazing cheese sauces and is wounderful grated over pasta or on a slice of bread under the grill.
In keeping with our tradition of producing something different for your cheese board, we are presenting this cheese in 200g cubes, which we believe is a first for the cheese industry. We have also developed a very smart black presentation box which makes the ideal gift to take to a dinner party. It is also available in 500g and 2.5kg blocks.
Sussex Charmer can be found at most delis and farmshops throughout the south east. It is also available at selected Budgens and Sainsbury's stores. You can also buy it on our on-line shop.
It is made pasteurised milk from Pallinghurst farm, Rudgwick, West Sussex and is suitable for Vegetarians.
