2008 Sussex Charmer wins Best New Dairy Product at Nantwich International Cheese Awards

This new cheese, which is a cross between a cheddar and parmesan is the result of a joint venture between ourselves and R. Harrison & Sons who are dairy farmers based in Rudgwick. Sussex Charmer, got through to the finals in the Tesco Cheese Challenge 2007 and won BEST NEW DAIRY PRODUCT 2008 at the Nantwich International Cheese Awards. It is now available at many delis, farmshops, farmers' markets and selected Sainsbury's, Coop and Budgens Stores throughout the South East. It is also being exported to USA, Dubia and Hong Kong. It is presented traditionally wrapped in a 200g, 500g and 2.5kg format.

We're on the telly again!

Back in the Summer, we had a visit from two hungry sailors! They had moored their vessel in Eastbourne Habour and cycled to the farm in search of ingredients for their supper. Dick Strawbridge (the TV engineer with the famous walrus moustache) and his son James, were filming for their new ITV series 'The Hungry Sailors'. At the farm we showed them how we make our pasta. They then challenged eachother to a sauce and pasta cook off, taking off to the woods with a couple of amazing outdoor cooking stoves. I then had the difficult task of choosing the winner! You'll have to watch the program on Monday, 6th February at 4pm on ITV to find out who I chose.

Of the many programs we have featured in over the years, we can honestly say this was the most enjoyable. Dick and James were genuinely interested in what we do. They were both lovely guys and completely devoid of any showbiz ego. Originally scheduled to film at the farm for a couple of hours, we had such fun that they stayed for five!

We were delighted to be asked to provide the pasta and cheese for 'The Alan Titchmarsh Show', when Dick and James cooked live on the show for Alan Titchmarsh and Lorraine Kelly, in order to promote their 'Hungry Sailor' series. We were even more delighted to receive a personal mention from them. Thanks guys!

We have seen a massive increase in sales through our website and this has enabled us to negotiate better rates from our couriers. We have passed these saving onto our customers, together with a much improved service.

Orders placed by 11am (Monday to Thursday) will be dispatched the same day for next day delivery. Orders placed on Friday and over the weekend will be dispatched on Monday morning.
